We’re looking for an Associate Technical Editor to join our Document Operations Team. This person will be involved in the development of documents and other legal content using Rocket Lawyer tools. Success in this position will require good editing and developing skills, competency in CSS/HTML and semantic mark-up, ability to debug and fix issues, as well as excellent critical analysis and problem solving.
Successful candidates must have good communication, organization, and time management skills. The ability to work through instructions with little or no supervision is critical, as are the abilities to commit to and deliver against deadlines and adapt to requirement changes quickly and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Work with legal researchers and other technical staff to create online legal documents and other content using proprietary software
- Analyze and interpret legal documents, government forms, and other data collection media (interviews, letters, etc.) for commercialization in a digital user experience
- Work with technical staff to develop and test interactive forms on a daily release cycle
- Work with Customer Support and Engineering teams to resolve technical issues with legal documents and other content
- Continuously improve our internal tools and legal documentation processes;
- Identify, propose and manage new legal document-related opportunities for our business growth
- Effectively communicate progress toward project milestones
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of experience drafting and proofreading documents or educational materials in software, law, or related field
- Working knowledge of HTML5, CSS3 and Velocity, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Suite are a plus
