What you get to do:

Provide a wide variety of support to the Human Resources department.

In the role of HR Payroll Specialist, you will utilize your attention to detail and problem-solving skills to meticulously review and edit final pay calculations for terminated employees, ensuring accuracy. Additionally, you will proactively communicate any critical issues to management, maintain ongoing communication with park leadership, and facilitate daily interactions with team members. You will also:

  • Process and manage final paychecks, including data input, calculations, and disbursement of terminated employees' compensation.
  • Ensure strict compliance with payroll laws and regulations, particularly those related to final paychecks.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with terminated employees, HR, and Finance/Payroll teams regarding final paycheck inquiries and concerns.
  • Perform detailed audits and reconciliations to maintain the accuracy of final paycheck data.
  • Assist in the implementation of final pay processing system updates or changes.
  • Generate final paycheck reports and assist with audits as necessary.
  • Handle employee wage garnishments, deductions, and withholdings for final paychecks.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of final paychecks.
  • Stay informed about changes in payroll laws, regulations, and best practices related to final pay processing.
  • Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment within the HR team.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with Ambassadors, Vendors and our Guests
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Occasionally assist other locations and areas in the park as needed.

What it takes to succeed:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Comfortability primarily working indoors.
  • Ability to sit/stand for several hours at a time.
  • Ability to respond to change and/or interruptions, responding to highly stressful situations requiring immediate action, independent judgment, and superior problem-solving abilities.
  • Comfortability with exposure to computer screens.
  • Ability to use hands to operate computers, printers, and copiers.
  • Associate’s degree preferred or relevant years of experience.
  • Knowledge of human resources functions, including tasks within the employment cycle.
  • General understanding of employment laws.
  • Experience working in a fast paced Human Resources department
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel and Outlook, etc.).
  • Strong computer and phone skills.
     

What else is important:

  • Prior human resources experience preferred.
  • Payroll experience preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft Office application skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills, specifically attention to detail
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and thrive in a cross functional environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information appropriately.
  • Experience working in the theme park or hospitality industry preferred.
  • Working knowledge of HRIS systems (Workday, etc.)
  • Experience working in a fast paced, high-growth company.

Availability:

  • Available to work varying shifts or hours based on park hours, i.e. be able to work opening and closing shifts, nights, weekends, and Holidays.
  • Typically scheduled weekdays during Employment Center Operational hours, however, may be scheduled on weekends & evenings as needed.

Compensation: 18.00 USD Hourly
