Job Summary

The Department of Fine and Performing at Texas A&M International University provides an enriching experience for aspiring artists, performers and music teachers. Our programs' mission is to enhance our student’s knowledge and appreciation of the fine and performing arts and their relationship to society, as well as self-realization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Handles routine studio glaze inventory.

• Assists in the day-to-day cleaning responsibilities of the clay studio.

• Assists with studio organization, kiln loading and unloading, shelf maintenance.

• Other ceramic studio related duties as assigned.

• Assisting in the installation and deinstallation of exhibitions (which may require working on weekends

• Gallery maintenance

• Assisting in other TAMIU Visual Arts Program tasks as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• Enrolled at least half-time, 6 credit hours per semester for undergraduate and 3 credit hours per semester for graduates.

• Maintain a TAMIU overall GPA of 2.0 for undergraduate students and 3.0 for graduate students.

• Must meet all other requirements as stated in TAMIU’s Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy (SAPP).

Preferred Experience and Education

• Art Studio enrolled, with a concentration in ceramics is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Proficiency in use of personal computer workstation with common software applications.

• Ability to organize and multitask functions to ensure compliance with deadlines.

• Outstanding customer service skills.

• Excellent interpersonal relationship and communication skills.

• Problem analysis and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to learn and use multiple software programs.

Other Requirements

• Position requires on campus, face-to-face interactions.

• Position requires maintaining a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace.

• Work schedules are created by the department based on departmental needs but ensure it does not conflict with class schedule.

• Promptly complete all required trainings.

• Submit time sheet biweekly.

Pay of Rate: $8.00/hour for up 19 hours weekly
