Eli Lilly and Company seeks a Biologist (R2-R4) to advance nucleic acid research projects for novel therapeutic modalities. Prepare in vitro evaluations of nucleic acid formulations, including mammalian cell cultures, transfection, and cell assays. Drive molecular endpoint studies for nucleic acid formulations using techniques including real-time polymerase chain reaction (qPCR), Western blot, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Design, optimize, and execute high-throughput in vitro screens for various formulations. Execute formulation and characterization of nucleic acids, utilizing techniques including electrophoresis, dynamic light scattering (DLS), and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Optimize laboratory procedures through data analysis and review. Present scientific data in support of drug discovery projects. #LI-DNI 

 

Position requires a Master’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Neuroscience, or a related field, and 2 years of academic or employment experience with conducting nucleic acid research for therapeutic discovery projects. Academic or employment experience must include a minimum of: 2 years of experience with conducting mammalian cell culture and cell-based assay in high throughput manner; 2 years of experience with analyzing molecular endpoints; 2 years of experience with formulating ASO, siRNA, mRNA, and nanoparticle molecules; 2 years of experience with analyzing binding interactions of biomolecules; and 2 years of experience with performing biochemical assays. Part-time telecommuting may be permitted. Up to 5% domestic travel required. #LI-DNI

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.  The anticipated wage for this position is

$85,842

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
