Senior Controls Project EngineerJob Description
Department
Engineering support office (ESO) is responsible for making the standardization of products, tooling required to support products. ESO closely works with the project engineering team and R&D team.
Job Responsibilities / Core tasks
Lead the design and implementation of control systems for industrial automation and material handling applications.
Develop and optimize PLC and SCADA programs tailored to project requirements.
Create and review functional design specifications (FDS), architecture diagrams, and system documentation.
Conduct system integration, testing, and validation to ensure compliance with performance and safety standards.
Analyze and resolve Problem Reports (PRs) and Change Requests (CRs), ensuring robust software solutions.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, project engineering, and commissioning teams, to ensure seamless execution.
Participate in risk assessment and safety compliance for automation systems.
Oversee on-site installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting for automation projects.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability.
Document and transfer technical knowledge to internal teams and stakeholders.
Job Skills / Functional / Technical Skills
PLC & Automation Systems:
Expertise in Siemens PLC programming (S7-1500 is mandatory; S7-300/400 is a plus).
Strong proficiency in PLC programming languages (SCL & STL are mandatory).
Experience with Allen-Bradley PLC platforms is a plus.
Skilled in safety PLC programming (e.g., Siemens Safety PLCs).
SCADA, HMI & Network Systems:
Hands-on experience with SCADA platforms (WinCC, WebFactory, etc.).
System Integration & Testing
Strong experience in system integration, validation, and troubleshooting.
Proficiency in Quality Assurance tools (e.g., Quality Center, DOORS).
Hands-on experience with electro-mechanical systems, control cabinets, and field wiring.
Project Execution & Leadership:
Ability to lead project execution from design to commissioning.
Experience in risk assessment and compliance with industry standards.
Proven track record of delivering automation projects on time and within budget.

Qualification
B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering from a recognized university/institution.
Experience
10 - 14 years of relevant experience in industrial automation and logistics process automation using Siemens PLC platforms.
Proven experience in leading automation projects, from design to deployment.
