As a Software Engineer I at DigitalOcean, you will join a dynamic team dedicated to revolutionizing cloud computing. The fleet performance team supports monitoring, optimizing, and enhancing core system performance, ensuring our products consistently exceed customer expectations. You will be responsible for ensuring performance metrics are both accurate and easily accessible to our users, empowering them with transparent insights into our systems' capabilities and efficiency.
What You’ll Do:
Supporting the optimization and operations of distributed systems
Programming in Python, Go and other languages
Collaborating with a motivated team of peers
Consuming from and contributing to free/open source software communities
Solving interesting problems in a technically rewarding environment
What You’ll Add to DigitalOcean:
Minimum 2 years experience programming in Python or Go
Minimum 4 years of software engineering experience
Experience working with complex, distributed systems
Experience working with Linux hypervisors and analysing systems performance
Experience developing performance metrics, analysis tools, and reporting systems
A passion for shipping well-engineered and well-tested code
Strong analytical, communications, and organizational skills
Experience in agile software development methodologies
CI/CD experience with a focus on quality and developer velocity

- We reward our employees. The salary range for this position is between $70,880.00 - $106,320.00 based on market data, relevant years of experience, and skills. You may qualify for a bonus in addition to base salary; bonus amounts are determined based on company and individual performance. We also provide equity compensation to eligible employees, including equity grants upon hire and the option to participate in our Employee Stock Purchase Program.
