Job Description
Overview:
The Customer Care Technician is responsible for conducting scheduled Customer Orientations (2, 12, and 18-month warranty reviews) and handling “call-in” service requests. You will inspect and address homeowner warranty concerns, ensuring compliance with Brookfield Residential’s Service and Warranty Policies and Provincial New Home Warranty guidelines. This role also includes managing after-hour emergency services on a rotational basis.
Key Deliverables:
Communicate professionally and courteously with homeowners and trades
Educate homeowners on maintenance and product performance
Set clear expectations for homeowners throughout the service process
Provide feedback and solutions for recurring issues; suggest product/practice improvements
Attend regular departmental meetings
Access homes during construction to mitigate potential warranty issues
Use troubleshooting skills and tools to resolve complex home issues
Conduct thorough home inspections at 2-, 12-, and 18-month post-occupancy
Support pre-occupancy and possession inspections
Apply New Home Warranty guidelines to determine warranty items
Report key service metrics to the Supervisor
Communicate pending customer escalations or unusual situations to the team
Coordinate and manage work order details and schedules
Execute complex repairs and ensure high-quality workmanship
Hold trades accountable for service performance
Assess and mitigate safety hazards for yourself and trades
What You Bring:
3 to 5 years Residential Construction or Renovation Experience
Progressive Customer Service Experience
Proficient computer skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
