About the role and why it’s unique:
- As a Senior Data Scientist on the marketing data team, you’ll be developing and delivering models and analyses that optimize marketing programs.
- Build end-to-end predictive modeling systems for marketing teams
- Analyze business and marketing performance, identifying trends and root causes
- Design and execute experiments, interpret results, and enhance marketing performance
- Create interactive dashboards, visualizations, and data/modeling applications to communicate insights and other model outputs
- Implement and maintain model evaluation, monitoring, alerting, and logging mechanisms to ensure the health and accuracy of Underdog’s modeling systems
- Mentor junior analysts and data scientists, lead technical initiatives, and drive results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Work with cross-functional teams to identify data-driven solutions to a variety of business problems
Who you are:
- At least 4 years of experience building models to solve complex marketing problems (e.g., MMM, multi-touch attribution, CLTV, churn, etc.)
- Strong skills in SQL, at least one of either Python or R, and cloud-based data platforms
- Highly focused on delivering results for internal and external stakeholders in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent leadership and communication skills with ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders
Even better if you have:
- Strong interest in sports
- Prior experience in the sports betting industry
- Prior experience building MMM, MTA, Churn, or CLTV models
Our target starting base salary range for this position is between $150,000 and $180,000, plus target equity. The starting base salary will depend on a number of factors including the candidate’s skills and experience, among other things.
