Position Overview

This role supports the Power Electronic design team on mechanical design, concepting, and validation activities for electric drive product systems, from design release and checking through fit-up, assembly, and vibration and thermal testing.

Key Contributions & Responsibilities

•    Design release and checking

•    Mechanical design concepting and validation, including fit-up/assembly and vibration and thermal testing

•    Supplier interaction on manufacturing

Team Structure & Work Environment

•    Reports to the Mechanical Design Lead

•    Works in-person with the on-site team and virtually with the global team, collaborating with fellow Mechanical and Power Electronic Engineers

•    Primarily an office environment; PPE provided when on production floors or at testing sites

Requirements

Candidate Requirements

Education & Experience

•    BS in Mechanical Engineering and 5+ years of relevant experience required OR

•    MS in Mechanical Engineering with 3+ years of experience OR

•    Associate's degree with 9+ years of experience

Top Skills

•    Mechanical design fundamentals and material properties

•    Creo (intermediate to advanced user)

•    Dimensional tolerancing (foundational understanding)

Additional Technical Skills

•    Required: Intermediate MS Excel

•    Desired: Heat transfer concepts

•    Desired: Metallic material properties

•    Desired: Basic electrical system understanding

Soft Skills

•    Verbal communication, team contributor, initiative
