Here at GXO Newark we are recruiting for a Shunter to join our team, working in partnership with our customer Currys. As a Shunter, you’ll be working on a full-time, permanent basis, working on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, covering the hours of 06:00 to 18:00.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

  • Support and liaise with the Transport Department regarding fleet management
  • Ensure the safe delivery and collection of loads are taking place on site
  • Conduct inspections of vehicles and trailers and report any defects or hazards while loading bays are kept in tip top condition
  • Assist drivers with queries in relation to shunting duties

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • HGV Class 1 (C+E) driving license
  • Valid driver CPC and digital tachograph cards
  • No more than six penalty points on your licence (no TT, DD, DR, DG, BA, AC, LC or CD endorsements)
  • Excellent knowledge of road transport laws and legislations
  • Ability to work on own initiative and flexible approach to work
