Job Description

As a Security Officer – Retail Access Control in WINCHESTER, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more.

As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in helping to deter security-related incidents at a major retail distribution location. Your primary responsibilities will include monitoring entry and exit points, conducting routine patrols, and providing exceptional customer service to all visitors and staff. You will use your communication skills and attention to detail to support a secure environment. This position requires driving as part of your duties. Pay Rate: $19.22 / Hour

Job Schedule:

What You’ll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, as well as responding to emergency situations when appropriate.
• Monitor access points to help to deter unauthorized entry and maintain a secure environment within the location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter to help to deter potential security-related concerns and observe for unusual activity.
• Document and report all incidents, observations, and activities according to Allied Universal and client procedures.
• Assist visitors, employees, and/or contractors with access control processes, verifying credentials as required by site policies.
• Communicate professionally with clients, visitors, and/or employees while upholding Allied Universal standards.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Experience working in limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets or rustic guard shacks is preferred.
• A Security Professional Guard Card is preferred.
• Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
