About the Department
Position Duties
Responsibilities:
- Primary responsibility is to open and close the entrance of various parks throughout Southern Alamance County.
- Works independently serving as a public contact for the park
- Maintains cleanliness of the parks by picking up trash and emptying trash receptacles, cleaning and maintaining the restrooms and other light maintenance duties.
- Provides good customer service to public as they utilize the park.
Work hours are 10-19 per week with morning hours 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM or evening hours between 5:00 PM and 9:00 PM depending on the season. Flexible schedule is required with weekend and weekday work assignments. County vehicle will be provided, and County policy must be maintained.

Other Qualifications
Skills & Abilities:
Education: High school diploma or G.E.D equivalent is required. Some college course work is preferred with a major in recreation or related field.
Experience: Prior experience working independently to accomplish a diverse variety of tasks and experience working in customer service preferred.
Computer Skills: Must have a basic to intermediate functional knowledge of computers. Experience with internet, email, Microsoft Word, preferred.
License/Credentials/Requirement: Possession of a valid NC driver's license.
Other Important Position Information:Candidate must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this position. This position is a part-time non-benefited position in which hours will vary and will average no greater than 19 hours per week.
