Responsibilities

• Create high quality surface models that communicate the design intent throughout the design development process, from the concept sketch phases to class-A surfacing and production release.
• Evaluate design concepts for feasibility, surface quality, and manufacturability, providing recommendations for optimization
• Deliver surface models within agreed time according to the specific milestone quality standards.
• Prepare and carry out design reviews and presentations of surface models.
• Support and perform surface quality evaluations.

Requirements

Qualifications/Experience

• Degree in industrial design, transportation design, mechanical engineering or related field
• 6-8 years of experience in automotive design and engineering, with a strong focus on automotive prototype, advanced design development and production development
• Proficient in Alias software and automotive industry surface design best practices from concept to Class-A
• Experience in Alias Sub-D and/or Blender 
• Broad knowledge of product design development process.
• Good understanding of component design for manufacture.
• Confident working with design input in the form of sketches and verbal instruction.
• Confident working with engineering criteria and packaging hard-points.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively and flexibly in a rapidly changing, fast-paced environment.
• Basic CATIA knowledge an advantage.
