Job Description: 
York Country Day School is seeking a part-time Teacher Aide to join our well-established Early Childhood team. The Teacher Aide maintains and contributes to an exceptional learning environment for students aged 2 1/2 through 4 years. The Teacher Aide participates fully in the life of the school, including collaborating with the team in a mission-driven environment.
 
Outcome: 
Looking for an experienced, highly qualified, and energetic teacher aide as an addition to the YCDS Lower School faculty for the 2025-2026 school year.

Position Duties

The Lower School Teacher aide will be responsible for working with students ages 2 1/2  to 4 years old. 

The following are the responsibilities associated with this position:

  • Assisting the lead teacher in maintaining a safe classroom environment
  • Giving individual and small group lessons as directed by the Lead Teacher
  • Supervising the playground
  • Attending to the logistical aspects of the classroom and assisting the Lead Teacher in student activities
  • Assisting with creating materials

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or higher
  • 2 to 5 years of experience working with young children in a school setting
  • Experience assisting in a classroom

Other Qualifications

  • Support young children in their daily activities with kindness and patience
  • Ability to carry out activities with children to help develop their fine and gross motor skills
  • A collaborative mindset and commitment to professional growth and personal development
