Mailroom Clerk
SUMMARY
In support of the university’s mission and objectives, the Mailroom Clerk assists with the receiving, delivering, and shipping of all departmental and residential mail and packages. The mailroom clerk ensures the efficient operation of the campus mail department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Mail Delivery and Transportation
-
Drives a vehicle for the retrieval and distribution of campus packages and mail
Mail and Package Handling
-
Collects and sorts all incoming campus and U.S. mail
-
Operates postage meter machine and parcels receiving and shipping software
-
Process outgoing mail and packages
Operations and Maintenance
-
Maintains current knowledge of postal services
-
Assists students, faculty, and staff with mailroom services (email, phone, and walk-ins)
-
Assists manager with periodic inventory of supplies
-
Assists manager with periodic vehicles maintenance needs
-
Assists copy center with delivery of jobs and supplies as needed
General Office Support

Attends training as required
-
Performs general front desks duties and other initiatives as directed

Qualifications
EDUCATION:
- High school diploma, required.
EXPERIENCE:
- Entry Level with experience in receiving and shipping, mailing system/equipment, postal regulations and coordinating with shipping couriers and drivers a plus.
