SALARY: The salary range for this position is $79,098.16 to $123,272.27 for Schedule A, and $79,098.16 to $117,108.66 for Schedule B. For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range. For current Judiciary employees, salary upon promotion or advancement will be an increase of 5% of base salary, not to exceed the maximum of the range, or the minimum salary of the band/level, whichever is greater. Judiciary employees hired prior to June 3, 2014, are considered Schedule A. Newly hired individuals, and Judiciary employees hired on or after June 3, 2014, are considered Schedule B.

The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking an Administrative Specialist 4 for the Statistics team within the Quantitative Research Unit of the Data Analytics, Research, and Statistics (DARS) office. The selected individual will perform a variety of medium- to high-level statistical analysis of large datasets to produce in-depth statistical reports and data visualizations to generate high-level statistical insights for executive decision-making. This position will also help to produce and analyze the official monthly court statistics and ad hoc reports. This position will benefit from an experienced quantitative researcher seeking to conduct applied research, project management and project implementation. The selected candidate will also assist in modernizing monthly statistical reporting, analyzing statistical trends, and creating and developing interactive dashboards. The individual will use advanced processes in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and/or statistical analysis software, such as SPSS, to complete these functions as well as create and produce additional reports as needed. Example reports include: Court Management Statistics, August 2025 and Filings and Resolutions Dashboard - Current | NJ Courts.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in statistics, criminology, criminal justice, government/political science, psychology, economics, data science, or other relevant discipline and five years of professional experience in program analysis, administrative research, program development, program coordination, and/or program administration. At least three years of experience in quantitative research, data analysis, and statistical reporting is required.
Note: The above required experience should include advanced Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables and macros, Power BI and intermediate data visualization practices. Experience in generating and interpreting Visio documentation is preferred. Experience conducting social science research in any social science field would be helpful.
Substitution: Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience in the areas of specialty listed above on a year-for-year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits. An associate's degree and two years of additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience in the areas of specialty listed above may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
A Master's degree in one of the fields noted above may be substituted for the required education OR one (1) year of the required experience.
A Ph.D. in one of the fields noted above may be substituted for the required education OR for three (3) years of the required specialized experience.
Note: Master’s Degree or Doctorate Degree in statistics or social science fields is preferred.
