Reporting to the Manager and working within the Jersey Fund Administration team, this role will be responsible for maintaining the day-to-day integrity of ledgers, assisting in the preparation of financial statements, attending client board meetings and presenting financial information.

The successful candidate will be a senior hire, supporting the Head of Financial Reporting in the development and delivery of Fund Administration services in line Jersey and ensuring clients receive the highest standard of financial reporting services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare financial statements for fund and corporate structures efficiently and following accepted accounting and auditing standards and internal policies and procedures
  • Liaise with auditors ensuring that financial statements are finalised and distributed within the required deadlines
  • Maintain and enhance relationships with clients and intermediaries and, where necessary, assist with onboarding new business
  • Production of comprehensive working papers for audit and reporting purposes
  • Presentation of accounts at Board Meetings and discuss audit issues and other findings
  • Managing the day-to-day integrity of the client ledgers, reviewing the input of bookkeepers
  • Manage workflow to ensure that you contribute to the objectives and aims of the team and company in an efficient and timely manner
  • Maintain and develop expertise and provide advice to clients, demonstrating judgement and understanding of clients’ business requirements
  • Assist with the development and automation of processes and implementation of procedural changes necessary for the continued growth of the team and enhancing operational efficiencies
  • Assist with the handling and resolving complex/unusual accounting problems
  • To assist in the recruitment, training and development of other members of the team
  • Communicate effectively and concisely with other team members
  • Deal with ad hoc queries as and when required
  • Provide information to directors and service providers on an ad hoc basis
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of industry, legal and regulatory requirements

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Part qualified with ACA, ACCA or equivalent
  • Experience in a client facing role is preferable but not essential
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and competent with other Microsoft Office suites
  • Demonstrated high degree of numeracy and analytical thinking
  • Highly diligent and organised approach to work
  • Proficient with one or more leading fund accounting system/s (e.g. Investran, eFront or ViewPoint)
  • 'Can do' and very positive attitude with a client service mentality; approachable
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to problem solve and select the most appropriate course of action
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and use own initiative
  • Possess effective time management skills and the ability to prioritise conflicting demands
  • Experience in Private Equity and, or Real Estate environment desirable
