Are you seeking an opportunity to extend the range of your skills within vessel operations? Are you excited by the chance to support the planning of efficient and effective discharge of vessels from ship to shore? We’re seeking a Chargehand to join a supportive team within Vessel Operations at the Port of Medway.
In this role you will manage the team and third party labour to meet operational targets, ensuring all activities are completed in a safe and timely manner. You will liaise with planning and commodity leaders on a daily basis to understand the day to day operational priorities. You will ensure we are delivering an industry leading service to customers by monitoring daily performance of the team against customer deadlines and developing a culture of continuous improvement across the team.
You will work flexibly to support managers, colleagues and other areas of the business within the Port.

You will have knowledge and experience of cargo handling methods and logistics having operated within a fast paced operational environment, working with high volumes of work, and possessing MHE licences appropriate to the role. You will demonstrate excellent communication skills and good IT and numeracy skills. IOSH managing safety certification would be desirable and you must have a full UK driving licence.
