Description

SUMMARY

  • Sets up and operates powder coating line by performing the following duties. May require overtime to include weekends and daily overtime. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Loads parts on the line based on the supplied paint line schedule. Hanging accurate and efficiently based on the provided work instructions.
  • Assisting with pre-racking parts as needed.
  • Visually inspect parts loaded on to the line for quality concerns, such as rust contamination. 
  • Accurately complete all work documentation such as tracking down time, quantity of parts loaded on to the line, necessary scrap tags. Efficient in Excel and Microsoft is a plus.
  • Fills in at other work areas in the company as needed. Work well with teammates and make Team Lead aware of any concerns. 
  • Look for ways to improve line capacity and quality.
  • May be required to work off shifts as needed.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
