Overview of the Role
As a data analyst, you will play a key role in transforming data into meaningful insights that inform decision-making across Fresh Start. You will work with teams throughout the organization to understand their goals and translate them into effective reporting and analysis. Your work will include building clear, interactive dashboards in Power BI, managing and optimizing data in Snowflake, and ensuring the accuracy and quality of information drawn from systems such as Apricot and HubSpot. You will be responsible for analyzing data to identify trends, preparing reports for grants and leadership, and maintaining strong data processes that support both day-to-day operations and long-term strategy.
What you’ll do:
- Design and build interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI, using DAX and data modeling to communicate insights clearly.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across programs, development, and leadership to understand data needs and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Collect, clean, and organize data from multiple systems (including Apricot, HubSpot, and Snowflake) to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
- Maintain and optimize the Snowflake data warehouse, including query performance tuning, access management, and monitoring usage.
- Develop, transform, and model data using SQL and Snowflake to prepare datasets for reporting and analysis.
- Compile and distribute KPI and metric reports to measure program outcomes, track grant performance, and inform executive decision-making.
- Conduct data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and insights that guide organizational strategy.
- Perform regular data quality audits and implement processes for data validation, cleaning, and error resolution.
- Improve and streamline data processes, identifying opportunities for automation, efficiency, and better integration across systems.
- Document data processes, transformations, and reporting standards to ensure transparency, reproducibility, and organizational knowledge sharing.
- Stay current with BI and analytics best practices, applying modern tools and methods to continuously improve reporting and analysis.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in data analytics, mathematics, statistics, computer science, or related field
- Proven experience with Power BI, including DAX, modeling, and dashboard/report development.
- Advanced SQL skills for querying and data transformation.
- Experience working with Snowflake for querying and reporting (basic maintenance and optimization).
- Familiarity with Apricot and/or HubSpot.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Experience compiling KPI reports.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
