Responsibilities

Establishes and maintains relationships with employer partners, business and industry, and community organizations to identify employers’ workforce needs, develop job opportunities, and connect participants and prospective employers. Develops systems for matching program completers to jobs, tools for collecting and sharing participant feedback, and other engagement strategies. Serves as the subject matter expert for conducting program-related labor market data collection and analysis, engaging employers to determine workforce needs, and supporting job opportunity identification for student cohorts. 

Initiates and maintains professional contacts with employer partners and business and industry representatives to determine future demands for skilled workers; schedules and visits potential and existing employers to identify and develop positions for students; and promotes the College’s job placement services. 

Assists program participants in assessing their interests and identifying occupations in the areas of Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, and Cloud Infrastructure; advises students on employ-ability skills in that field; helps students explore employment options; and supports and connects students with College resources for job search, interviewing skills, and resumes and cover letter development.

Maintains currency with industry trends; analyzes labor market information by researching databases and online resources, attending meetings, maintaining contacts with program partners, and networking with professional/community organizations within the scope of the SCC3 grant program.

Collects and synthesizes employer partner feedback on skills they need in new hires as well as overall program design and logistics and works cross-functionally with the SCC3 team to incorporate that feedback into the employer engagement and project work plans.

Maintains and oversees relationships with existing employer partners through high-touchpoint outreach campaigns; forms and expands new partnerships with employers seeking to hire participants, specifically within the scope of the SCC3 grant program.

Expands network of employers and business organizations in targeted career pathways and industry sectors; supports the expansion of the Cybersecurity/Artificial Intelligence/Cloud Infrastructure Business & Industry Leadership Team (BILT) and facilitates quarterly meetings with members.

Advises and counsels participants concerning employment opportunities and careers by acting as a liaison between students and prospective employers.

Plans and facilitates all logistics, marketing, and day of support of employer-related engagements for awareness, outreach, and recruitment events including career fairs, information sessions, on-campus interviews, class presentations, and networking events; works collaboratively with College faculty and staff to achieve SCC3 program objectives.

Develops original content for career-related publications and assists with editing and distributing SCC3 grant program and career pathways communications materials.

Leverages customer relationship management (CRM) platforms to manage relationships with employers. Leads in campaign planning and implementation, content management and messaging, and utilizing CRM features for reporting. Works collaboratively with the college’s CRM team.

Performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:   Bachelor’s degree required in human resources, marketing, business, communications, or related area.

Experience:  Minimum five years of increasingly responsible experience in job development, human resources, business development, or employer/partner engagement. Strong interpersonal, analytical, planning, and organizational skills with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment are required. Must have excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Experience facilitating small and large-scale recruiting and networking events and presenting to various constituents. Strong networking, outreach, and team-building skills. Knowledge of employment search processes, tools, and resources or professional development equivalent.  Knowledge of regional economic and labor market conditions and trends and effective techniques for engaging potential and existing employers/partners are required. Maintains a high sense of professionalism while managing relationships with internal and external constituents. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive, and Teams. Familiarity with CRM and databases, including data monitoring, collection, and analysis
