DEFINITION:

Under limited supervision of the principal, to supervise students and maintain order on campus and in the lunch area, and to perform other related work as directed.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:

Observes and directs students in the locker room and in the lunch area; maintains a harmonious atmosphere on campus; intervenes in situations as needed; reports all problems and accidents to the principal and makes out accident reports as they occur; communicates standards of behavior and takes disciplinary measures to enforce them; cleans lunch area after lunch period; performs other tasks as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 Ability to:

• meet the physical, mental and environmental demands of position;
• use sound judgment in stressful situations;
• work effectively with 9-12 students in a multi-ethnic setting;
• supervise 9-12 students;
• understand and follow oral and written instructions;
• work with a minimum of supervision;
• ability to deal with problems firmly and fairly as soon as they arise.
• Perform tasks in a safe and efficient manner so as not to cause a risk to the health and safety of self and others.

 Education, Training, and Experience:

• MUST submit verification of completion of the twelfth grade through diploma, high school transcripts or GED certificate upon hire;
• Past experience in working with youth groups is highly desirable.

Personal Qualities:

• Good physical condition, patience, willingness to perform job tasks, reliable and dependable.
