Montgomery College has an immediate need for a full-time Placement and Learning Advisor for the East County Education Center. The work schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm. This is a non-bargaining, exempt, grade 27 position. Montgomery College promotes and creates a working and learning environment rooted in the basic tenets of fairness, belonging, and inclusiveness. This position is eligible for telework one day a week. This eligibility is subject to change based on the needs of the unit.
The Placement and Learning Advisor assesses, tests, places, and counsels’ prospective students to determine proficiency levels for placement in appropriate courses, as well as advises and counsels students around learning goals, educational and career opportunities.
Contacts and interactions vary and may involve multiple constituencies, such as direct interaction with colleagues, managers, administrators, students, and faculty to provide information, guidance, and direction.
This is a temporary position with benefits currently funded by the Perkins Grant through June 30, 2026.

Required Qualifications:
Hiring Range: $65,910 - $85,671 annually. Initial salary placement for new hires falls between the minimum and midpoint of the range and is based on relevant candidate experience and internal equity. The maximum salary for this position is $ 105,432.

Participation in a Maryland State Retirement System plan (Pension or Optional Retirement Plan, depending on the position). If you are already retired from the Maryland State Retirement System, you may not enroll in a Maryland State Retirement System plan at Montgomery College and may have earnings restrictions, per state law.
