Mid Level Site Reliability Engineer - AWS

As a SRE at Thomson Reuters you will be responsible for supporting our cloud infrastructure by designing, implementing, maintaining and monitoring systems that make it easy to build, deploy, monitor and scale applications. You will also play a key role in building a culture of reliability within the organization and collaborating closely with development teams to ensure the highest standards of system availability are achieved. We are looking for candidates who have experience working with complex technical environments and possess strong communication skills to effectively articulate issues and solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.

About the Role

In this opportunity as a Mid Level Site Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible to:

  • Respond to incidents, diagnose issues, and implement solutions to restore services promptly.
  • Create and maintain automation scripts and tools to improve operational efficiency.
  • Develop continuous integration and deployment pipelines to enhance the software delivery process.
  • Analyze system usage and performance data to plan for future capacity needs.
  • Implement security best practices and ensure systems comply with organizational policies.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of systems and processes.
  • Use data-driven approaches to measure and enhance system reliability.
  • Participate in change management processes to ensure minimal disruption to services.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions.
  • Work closely with development, operations, and product teams to align on goals and deliverables.

About You

You’re a fit for the role if your background includes:

  • Understanding of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment using industry best practices and tools
  • Implement best practices for security and compliance within AWS environments.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, monitoring, and scaling using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS SDKs.
  • Monitor system performance and availability, proactively identifying and resolving issues before they impact users.
  • Understanding and utilizing application performance metrics and tools
  • Experience managing multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously
  • Collaborating with senior management and other stakeholders on projects
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of application software development and testing
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field; master's degree preferred
