Rock West Composites, Inc. has an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Director. 

Rock West Composites, Inc. is an engineering and manufacturing company dedicated to providing innovative solutions for commercial and government customers. We provide cradle-to-grave services for primary and secondary composite structures.  This position is located at our West Jordan, UT office and reports to the Segment Director-Commercial.

Position Summary:

The Business Development Director is responsible for driving new business in a variety of industries including custom products (custom molded shapes), stock products (tubes, etc), and distribution products (prepregs, fabrics, resins). The focus of this position is custom composite products for Medical, Energy, and Industrial clients.  

Essential Functions:

• Identify and engage key clients in a variety of industries; Medical, Energy, Industrial, Sporting, etc.
  
  • Emphasis will be on identifying Medical opportunities including surgical robotics, diagnostic imaging, and prosthetics. 
• Develop a growth plan for assigned key accounts that identifies the programs we are targeting
  
• Exceed annual sales targets via traditional and nontraditional sales methods
  
• Develop and organize new business development initiatives, improve market share, implement pricing strategies, control expenses, and deliver technical services.
  
• Develop strong working relationships with clients, prospects, suppliers, and internal teams to advance strategic sales growth plans.
  
• Act as a liaison with Rock West teams, providing feedback about customer needs
  
• Provide leadership to ensure all new innovations /intellectual property is protected
  
• Manage customer qualification process; managing transition in sales process from project conception, technical validation, mass production.
  
• Follow up on leads generated by our website
  
• Travel to visit customers, attend trade shows, etc.
  

Non-Essential Functions:

• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested
  

Required Education and Experience:

• BS or BA degree in engineering or technical major
  
• Minimum 8 years of experience in composites and/or medical device sales
  
• Experience of establishing budgets and/or tracking expenditures and profit
  
• Experience in communicating with customers
  
• Strong technical knowledge of aerospace and space structures; design, analysis, and/or fabrication
  
• Knowledge of composite materials including: tapes, fabrics and braids, prepregs, and/or resin infusion fibers such as carbon fiber, fiber glass, quartz, Kevlar resins such as epoxy, vinyl ester, cyanate ester
  
• Knowledge of composite finishing processes (trimming, drilling, coating etc.)

Compensation:

The pay range for this position falls within $140,000-$165,000 annually. The final compensation will be determined based on experience, skillset,  and other factors permitted by law.
