The pay range for this role is $81,000 – $101,000 annually. Actual compensation within this range may vary based on the candidate’s skills, educational background, professional experience, and unique qualifications for the role.
Key Responsibilities:Work with a team of engineers, physicists, and technicians to advance trapped-ion quantum computing technologiesPerform regular maintenance on laser and optical systemsParticipate in designing, building, testing and alignment of optical systems, including lasers and imaging systemsCollaborate with colleagues to provide technical expertise and support on planning, development, maintenance, and management of a new and existing optical and laser systemsPrepare detailed engineering specifications, standard operating procedures, and other documentation required for the operation, maintenance, and repair of optical, mechanical, and electronics systemsSupport Procurement and Materials Management in acquiring and tracking technical equipment and infrastructure through phases of building, expanding, and maintaining the labYOU MUST HAVE:Bachelor’s degree minimumMinimum 1+ years hands-on work or apprentice experience in optics or lasersMinimum 2+ years’ experience working in a technical environment such as laboratory, clean room, or similarDue to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person defined as, U.S. citizen permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee statusDue to national security requirements imposed by the U.S. Government, candidates for this position must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless the candidate is also a U.S. citizen.WE VALUE:Masters degree in optics, engineering, instrumentation, physics, or related3+ years in an optics lab environmentHands-on skills building and testing optical systems and an understanding of underlying principles of optics, such as lasers, free-space optics, fiber optics, imaging systems, etc.Experience building experimental apparatus from scratchExperience following work instructions, drawings, and test protocolsExperience with Python, CAD, or optical modelingHighly organized and attention to detail on both administrative and technical tasksHighly motivated individuals excited to learn and apply a broad range of technical skillsThe ability to work from assembly drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, sketches and other written, visual and oral instructionsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsQuantinuum is the world’s largest integrated quantum company, driving breakthroughs in materials discovery, cybersecurity, and next-generation quantum AI.
