San Juan County is excited to invite candidates to apply for our Project Manager position. Depending on qualifications, a candidate may be brought in as a Senior Project Manager. The pay range for a Project Manager is $85,239.56 - $110,821.19 annually, and the Senior Project Manager will be paid at $92,267.86 - $119,850.54 annually.
The Project Manager classification series is primarily responsible for the development and implementation of capital projects and related services and programs for an assigned department. Duties and responsibilities are based around complete and comprehensive project management functions throughout all phases of a project including planning, design, and construction. Depending on the business needs of the County, these duties and responsibilities may be performed directly by the individual, indirectly through the supervision of assigned technical staff, or indirectly through the management of County contracted vendors, consultants, and contractors.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Requires frequent sitting, standing and walking. The employee is occasionally required to lift objects weighing up to 10 pounds and must infrequently lift more than 20 pounds or carry objects with both hands and arms. Frequently requires continuous hand and finger movement. Frequently requires visual acuity at 20 inches or less, and frequent hearing acuity for speech discrimination. The employee must be able to talk and to receive and understand written and oral communication and give written and oral instruction.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Frequent need to travel within the County to remote worksite locations using the State ferry or a County boat. Approximately 25 percent of the work is performed outdoors, and the remainder is performed in an office setting. Outdoor work is performed in all weather conditions including dangerous conditions resulting from severe weather events including heavy rain and flooding, snow and ice, high winds and storms, and extreme temperatures (hot and cold). Some work is performed in hazardous conditions requiring knowledge of, and adherence to, of all applicable safety precautions including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). All work is subject to frequent interruption and changes of priority.
