Description

Maintain the hygiene and assist in the clean-up of system data. Act as the SME (subject matter expert) of manufacturing engineering related processes. Be a liaison between front line personnel and engineering departments. Assists the production, development, and refinement of rough assembly, finish, and final assembly operations. Assists the research and development of select prototype instruments and design improvements to existing production models. Assists quality assurance measures


Responsibilities:

  • Devises corrections to manufacturing operations and assists the implementation of lean manufacturing principles
  • Cooperatively organizes and tracks the status of related work in process and projects throughout factory. Works cooperatively with Production Employees, Manufacturing Supervisors, Production Control, and Engineering.
  • Assists the development and refinement of standardized final assembly operations for a select line of professional and prototype brasswind instruments.
  • Evaluates performance (musical and mechanical) of production, professional, and select prototype brasswind instruments. Assists the research and development of select prototypes; assists the implementation of design improvements to existing production models, and assists quality assurance measures.
  • Assists in various repair situations in final assembly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • College Engineering Degree (or equivalent experience) – Brasswind Performance
  • Good working knowledge of musical instruments, with experience in instrument repair and modification
  • Three years experience in a manufacturing environment, with experience in “light” machine operations (i.e. lathe, drill press, honing, etc.)
  • Must be able to read mechanical drawings, micrometers, and other precise measuring tools
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Requires long periods of sedentary work.
  • Requires some traveling.
  • Requires repetitive upper body movement – hand tools and some keyboard and monitor use.
