Description

Summary

The Automation Technician maintains and troubleshoots automated production equipment to support safe, efficient manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities:

·        Troubleshoot and maintain PLCs, HMIs, drives, sensors, and automated equipment

·        Support production by quickly resolving automation-related downtime

·        Perform preventive maintenance on control systems

·        Assist with equipment upgrades and process improvements

·        Follow safety and lockout/tagout procedures

Qualifications:

·        Technical degree or equivalent automation experience

·        Experience with PLCs and industrial electrical systems

·        Ability to read electrical schematics

·        Manufacturing or industrial experience preferred

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

·        Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. 

·        Thorough knowledge of world-class maintenance management systems, work order processes, preventive/predictive maintenance, TPM, etc.

·        Demonstrates required skills; adapts to new technologies; troubleshoots technological problems; uses technology to increase productivity; keeps technical skills up to date.

·        Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of management and customers.

·        Ability to plan work on a daily schedule, work independently and be a highly motivated individual.

·        Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and apply those concepts to practical situations.  

·        Excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task and to work with accuracy and attention to detail.

·        Ability to perform this job successfully, an individual should have a high proficiency of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) Word Processing software.
