Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Principal and/or Food Services Director, position is responsible for monitoring and assisting students during breakfast and lunch.

Requirements / Qualifications

Please provide the following required documents with your application: Resume Letter(s) of Recommendation MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of: Interests, attitudes and emotional development of adolescents. Techniques to motivate students and manage student behavior. Ability to: Learn basic techniques of crisis intervention, crowd control, traffic control and conflict resolution. Recognize problems which may interfere with the welfare of students and implement appropriate solutions. Establish, maintain and foster positive and harmonious working relationship with those contacted in the course of work. Work independently in the absence of supervision. Understand and follow oral and written directions. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Seats students in the cafeteria. Monitors student behavior by circulating and interacting with students during meals; encourage students to wait in line and leave cafeteria in an orderly fashion. Ensures students are receiving a reimbursable meal at the point of sale (POS). Monitor trash cans and encourage students to pick up their trash. Uses positive reinforcement strategies and other appropriate techniques to assist students in the development of appropriate behavior and an appreciation of human diversity. Assists in stopping student fights and other potentially dangerous situations for the purpose of maintaining a safe and orderly cafeteria environment. Establishes rapport with faculty and students for the purpose of gaining their trust and confidence. Reports violations of school rules or illegal actions to school administrators. Uses good judgment regarding appropriate action to assist an injured or physically ill student. Other duties as assigned to maintain a safe environment for students and staff.
