We are currently seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. The Heavy Equipment Operator will be responsible for the precise and safe operation of various heavy machinery, including forklifts, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and efficiency. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and a commitment to maintaining equipment in optimal condition.

Location/Schedule: Byron, GA / 1st Shift

Requirements

What You’ll Do:  

  • Operate forklifts and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently. 
  • Accurately move, position, load, and balance materials to support production and shipping operations. 
  • Load and unload materials, equipment, and finished products. 
  • Complete required pre-operation and post-operation equipment inspections. 
  • Perform routine cleaning, basic maintenance, and minor repairs on assigned equipment. 
  • Identify and report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns promptly. 
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas. 

Who You Are:  

  • Previous experience as a heavy equipment operator or similar role preferred. 
  • Previous experience operating a 260 D9 600 lb forklift.
  • CDL preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency in operating forklifts and other heavy machinery. 
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations governing heavy equipment operation. 
  • Ability to achieve high levels of accuracy and efficiency in material placement and balance. 
  • Experience with tracking and updating shipment statuses. 
  • Ability to perform scheduled maintenance tasks and minor repairs on equipment. 
  • Commitment to completing pre- and post-operation equipment checks to ensure safe operation. 
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment. 
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift and maneuver heavy loads. 
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work area.
