ROLE OVERVIEW

We have an exciting opportunity to work with the PipeBio team to help create the future of antibody drug discovery.  PipeBio is highly agile and we try to iterate rapidly.  Our strong core values,  “Hungry, humble and honest”,  have been pillars historically for our culture and align well with Benchling’s core values.   You’ll work closely with the rest of the team but we expect you will fairly quickly take over some part of the project and lead that. Additionally, we will need you to act as a Benchling ambassador to us newbies to help us with things we may not know about. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Aiding our replatforming efforts to move PipeBio back and/or front ends into Benchling proper
• Leveraging your deep knowledge of Benchling to create delightful PipeBio integrations to enable scientists to move between sequence analysis, registration and other tools with ease. That might be through powerful integrations or it could even be by moving parts of PipeBio ui into Benchling ui (and vice versa).
• Working with the ML team to enable customers to train models on historic data that can then optimise & design new antibodies.
• Interacting directly with customers to refine designs & concepts, assisting sales, handling support and building relationships.
• Collaborating with our team to build and power visualizations for hitpicking
• Optimising the PipeBio platform 
• Training PipeBio team on how to do things in Benchling code base and how to navigate JIRA, Confluence and other Benchling systems or processes so we can work efficiently
• Generally helping out alongside the rest of the team as tasks arise or customer issues & feedback is reported.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 5-8 years of experience
• Strong knowledge in some of: typescript, python, pixi.js / “game render loops”, angular/react, antibody understanding
• Ability to clarify requirements, think big picture and exemplify a strong focus on the customer and business goals
• Comfortable in chaos / changing requirements as we together refine our understanding of customer needs
• An interest/passion for bioinformatics and the pragmatic application of algorithms
• Understands Benchling culture, processes and tech stack well

Flexible Hybrid Work: We offer a flexible hybrid work arrangement that prioritizes in-office collaboration. Employees are expected to be on-site 3 days per week.

SALARY RANGE

Benchling takes a market-based approach to pay.  The candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, interview performance, and work location. For this role the base salary range is $165,113 - $223,388.
