Focus of the Role

The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex NetSuite based service automations and integrations outbound or inbound. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in NetSuite development and designing, programming skills, and be able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of our clients.

What You’ll Do

Product & Technology - Software Engineering & IT develops and maintains Telstra's software and IT systems, working on some really cutting-edge technologies.

  • Develop and deploy SuiteScripts (1.0, 2.0, and 2.1) using Client Scripts, User Event Scripts, Map/Reduce, Suitelets, and Scheduled Scripts. 

  • Customize and configure SuiteCommerce Advanced (SCA) and SiteBuilder. 

  • Create and manage Custom CRM Fields, Custom Entity Fields, Custom Item Fields, Custom Transaction Body Fields, and Custom Transaction Column Fields. 

  • Utilize NetSuite Developer Tools, including FieldSets, Search Fields, Facets, Sort Options, Configuration Files, Scriptable Cart and Checkout, SMT, and SSPs. 

  • Develop and manage approval-related workflows based on department, employee hierarchy, and role. 

  • Work on Procure to Pay (P2P), Quote to Cash (Q2C) modules, and returns. 

  • Implement and manage Advanced Revenue Management (ARM) features, including revenue recognition rules and item configuration. 

  • Work with the Fixed Asset Management module and configure standard costing in the Manufacturing feature of NetSuite. 

  • Customize and configure NetSuite features, accounting preferences, company-level preferences, and user-level preferences. 

  • Test NetSuite components such as order management, procurement, billing, payments, month-end closure, ARM, and FAM. 

  • Query and extract data from relational databases. 

  • Perform administrative activities like managing user profiles, roles, assigning roles, and permissions. 

  • Customize forms and related configurations. 

  • Develop and manage KPIs and custom dashboards. 

  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including product management, UX/UI designers, QA, and other developers, to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of our clients. 

  • Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, from requirement gathering to design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance. 

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers on the team. 

  • Ensure that design is of high quality, follows best practices, is maintainable, and is properly documented. 

  • Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of our development processes and standards. 

About You

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree / master’s degree in computer science or related field. 

  • 8+ years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years of experience in NetSuite development. 

  • 5+ years of experience as a Consultant in NetSuite, covering functional and technical areas. 

  • Experience working within geographically separated teams. 

  • Strong knowledge of Procure to Pay (P2P), Quote to Cash (Q2C) modules, and returns. 

  • Proficiency in SuiteFlows, Advanced Revenue Management (ARM), and Fixed Asset Management. 

  • Good understanding of NetSuite’s manufacturing feature and standard costing. 

  • Experience in testing NetSuite components and working with relational databases. 

  • Strong administrative skills, including managing user profiles, roles, and permissions. 

  • Excellent form customization and configuration skills. 

  • Experience with KPIs and custom dashboards. 

  • Proficient in Integrations, API or MS development. 

  • Experience with NetSuite integrations using SOAP, REST, and other integration patterns. 

  • NetSuite Suite Foundation Certification. 

  • NetSuite Administrator Certification. 

  • Familiarity with Automation test framework. 

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines. 

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

Desirable Skills:

  • NetSuite Certification 

  • Experience with Integration technologies like Springboot, MS etc. 

  • Familiarity with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, other web technologies and Cloud-based Technologies. 

  • Experience with Agile development methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
