THE POSITION

The Marketing Manager, Fan Experiences (freelance) works together with the Senior Manager Experiential Marketing, to develop, support and deliver innovative and best-in-class experiential marketing activations. The core deliverable is to lead the strategic development and positioning of the FIFA Fan Festival™ across Host Cities of Tier 1 FIFA Tournaments, focusing on the commercial, promotional, entertainment, and brand activations. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, the manager will help shape the narrative, drive partner integration, and develop innovative fan engagement in line with FIFA’s strategic objectives.

These are your key tasks:
  • Detailed Project Planning, administration and management.
  • Define and implement the overarching promotional and marketing strategy for the FIFA Fan Festival™, aligning with FIFA’s global objectives while adapting to local markets, stakeholder rights and cultural needs.
  • Team & Cross Functional Collaboration: Foster a collaborative environment and seamless cross functional teamwork.  
  • Stakeholder Management across internal and external teams, commercial and media partners, government bodies, agencies and suppliers, and others, aware and respectful of political and cultural nuances.
  • Risk Management and Contingency Planning: identify potential risks and develop contingency plans.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting: monitoring progress of projects, safeguarding the project plan and regularly reporting to stakeholders.
  • Campaign and engagement development:  Develop innovative campaigns and engagement concepts that maximise visibility, storytelling, and fan connection.  Align with Host Cities and local partners to ensure strategies are culturally relevant and mutually beneficial.
  • Rights management: obtain full insight to integrate and guard rights and commitments relating to stakeholders.    
  • Guardianship: coordinate, manage and support all approvals needed.
  • Onsite FIFA Fan Festival management: support, manage, coordinate, and liaise as tasked and as needed in the moment.
  • Entertainment & content value delivery: Shape the entertainment and cultural programming framework, integrating music, lifestyle, and community experiences.
  • Ensure content and programming deliver brand, commercial, and fan engagement value.
  • Ensure digital, broadcast, and influencer content extends the experience beyond the physical venues.

The specific competencies we require for this position are:
  • 4+ years’ experience in marketing, event management, or relevant client account management 
  • Proven relevant experience in similar position or another relevant role
  • Experience working in a multi-national, multi-cultural, and multi-stakeholder environment
  • Appreciation and understanding or sport and the role it plays in marketing, fan engagement and popular culture
  • University degree in a marketing discipline, or business administration with major in a relevant field  
  • Fluency in English; written, oral and comprehension 
  • Proficiency in any other language (in particular Portuguese / F / ES / GER) is an asset 
  • Proficient in Office 365
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Teams, SharePoint/One Drive, Monday.com 
  • Flexible and adaptable
