Role Summary

We’re looking for a Developer to join RAVL and work as part of a client delivery team building and evolving modern applications and services. You’ll bring strong software engineering fundamentals alongside practical experience using AI-assisted development tools.

This role is a strong fit for a developer who can contribute hands-on, work effectively within an established technology environment, and use modern development practices and tooling to deliver high-quality software.

What does success look like in this role?

  • Design, build, test, and maintain reliable, production-quality applications and services.
  • Contribute hands-on to development using NestJS and/or Spring.
  • Work effectively within event-driven architectures and integrate with platforms such as Kafka.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools as part of your day-to-day engineering workflow.
  • Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code and contribute to engineering standards and practices.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, product partners, and other stakeholders to turn requirements into working software.
  • Identify technical issues and trade-offs early and contribute practical solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement across the development lifecycle.

    The following are core requirements for this role:

    • Hands-on software development experience with at least one of the following:
      • NestJS
      • Spring / Spring Boot
      • Practical experience using at least one of the following AI coding tools:
        • GitHub Copilot
        • Claude Code
        • Strong software engineering fundamentals, including application design, testing, debugging, version control, and maintainable coding practices.
        • Experience working collaboratively within a software engineering or product delivery team.
        • Ability to understand existing systems and codebases and become productive within them.

    • Additional Information

    Compensation & hiring process
    We are recruiting for a future opportunity. The salary range for this role is $120,000–$150,000 CAD, reflecting expected base pay. Total compensation may also include additional pay such as bonuses or incentives, depending on the position, and final offers are based on experience, skills, and qualifications. As part of our hiring process we may use technology, including AI-based tools, to help summarize and assess applications; these tools assist our team and do not replace human review or decision-making.
