Description

You'll own the company's books end-to-end as an individual contributor — no team. You keep the books clean, accurate, and audit-ready at all times, run all banking operations, and prepare every statutory working in-house. Filing and government compliance are handled by our external consultants; your job is to make sure they always receive perfectly prepared data, on time. This is a hands-on operator's role, not a supervisory one. What You'll Do

  • Daily bookkeeping and full data management in Tally Prime and Zoho Books — journal entries, accounts payable/receivable, ledgers, invoicing, and bank reconciliations, kept audit-ready year-round.
  • All banking operations — vendor payments, employee reimbursements, and payment scheduling.
  • Month-end and year-end close, plus monthly MIS for the founder — P&L, and a basic balance-sheet / cash-flow view.
  • Preparing all statutory workings in-house — GST, TDS, professional tax, and payroll inputs — handed to our consultant for filing.
  • Payroll preparation (salary registers, deductions, inputs).
  • Using AI tools to speed up the routine — auto-categorisation, anomaly detection, faster report generation — and bringing ideas for what else to automate.
  • Coordinating with our external CA, compliance vendors, and auditor — supplying data, clearing queries, and driving the annual audit to completion.
  • Flagging anomalies and raising issues early, before they become problems.
  • Coordination with the partner for filing of GST / TDS / professional-tax returns, ROC and government compliance, foreign remittances and FEMA. You prepare the data; they file.

    • What We're Looking For

  • CA Inter / semi-qualified, or CMA Inter (preferred over a plain B.Com / M.Com).
  • 4–5 years of hands-on accounting experience, including time at a CA firm.
  • Excellent, current, daily-operator command of both Tally Prime and Zoho Books — real fluency in both, not just exposure.
  • Solid grip on GST, TDS, and Indian accounting standards — enough to prepare clean workings.
  • Strong with Excel / Google Sheets for reconciliation and reporting.
  • Able to run the entire books function solo, reliably and with minimal supervision.
  • Gurgaon / NCR based, available 6 days a week, comfortable in a remote-first setup.
  • The kind of person errors bother — detail-obsessed, dependable, and discreet with sensitive financial data.

    • Bonus

  • Comfort using AI tools in a finance workflow (Claude).
  • Startup or fast-paced SME experience.
  • Familiarity with foreign-vendor accounting and forex entries (even though filing is outsourced).
  • A clear communicator who can turn numbers into plain-language summaries.
