Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Work Structure: Primarily on-site with occasional community engagement and events

As a Mental Health Social Practitioner (MHSP), you will support individuals living with serious mental illness (SMI) through a recovery-oriented, community-based model rooted in the Clubhouse philosophy—where “community is therapy.”

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Rehabilitation Counseling, or related field (preferred)
- Experience working with individuals living with serious mental illness or related populations
- Strong understanding of mental health practices, recovery models, and trauma-informed care
- Experience with Medi-Cal documentation and behavioral health systems preferred
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and engagement skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Must be proficient in technology, including documentation systems and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel)
- Knowledge of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion principles
- Bilingual preferred but not required
What This Role Looks Like (Day-to-Day Reality)
- Work side-by-side with members in daily Clubhouse operations
- Facilitate structured programming within a “work-ordered day” model
- Build meaningful relationships with members and support recovery goals
- Support employment, education, and life skill development
- Participate in community engagement, events, and outreach activities
- Maintain real-time documentation and reporting
- This role requires strong emotional intelligence, adaptability, and comfort working in a collaborative, member-driven environment
What You’ll Do
Member Engagement & Support
- Build and maintain meaningful, supportive relationships with members
- Orient new members to the Clubhouse model and available services
- Support members in achieving goals related to housing, employment, education, and wellness
- Provide advocacy and support during challenging or crisis situations
Program Coordination & Daily Operations
- Facilitate daily Clubhouse activities aligned with the work-ordered day
- Work collaboratively with members to operate program functions
- Co-facilitate meetings and support structured programming
Support Services & Resource Navigation
- Connect members with housing, benefits, and community-based resources
- Support members in daily living skills and community integration
- Assist with behavioral health engagement and service coordination
Employment &Education Support
- Support transitional and supported employment placements
- Assist members with job readiness, applications, and training
- Foster relationships with employers and education providers
Community Engagement Outreach
- Build relationships with community partners, employers, and stakeholders
- Participate in social, wellness, and outreach activities
- Represent the Clubhouse program within the community
Documentation & Administrative
- Member engagement and participation in Clubhouse activities
- Progress toward member goals (employment, education, housing, wellness)
- Timely and accurate documentation
- Strength of relationships with members and community partners
- Contribution to a positive, recovery-oriented program environment

Work Requirements
- Ability to work on-site full-time in San Diego locations
- Ability to participate in occasional evenings, weekends, or events
- Valid California Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance
- Ability to attend required Clubhouse training and program-related trainings (conducted within California)
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly Pay: $26.00 – $31.00 per hour
- Monthly stipend
- 160 hours PTO + paid sick time
- 12 paid holidays (including birthday and floating holiday)
