Deep Genomics is at the forefront of using artificial intelligence to transform drug discovery. Our proprietary AI platform decodes the complexity of RNA biology to identify novel drug targets, mechanisms, and therapeutics inaccessible through traditional methods. With expertise spanning machine learning, bioinformatics, data science, engineering, and drug development, our multidisciplinary team in Toronto and Cambridge, MA is revolutionizing how new medicines are created.
Opportunity
This role based in Cambridge, MA is focused on the analytical characterization and formulation of oligonucleotides in support of the research efforts at Deep Genomics. The individual in this role will assure the identity and purity levels of oligonucleotides as they are obtained from external CROs as well as from pre-clinical in vitro and in vivo metabolism experiments. The person in this role will also be responsible for the formulation of oligonucleotides for in vitro and in vivo experimentation. Further, responsibility for the management of research samples falls within the remit of this role.
Key Responsibilities
Working with the leader of Molecular Design Chemistry, develop and implement a plan for the installation of an LCMS system for analysis of oligonucleotides.
Maintain as superuser an LCMS system for the characterization of oligonucleotides for identify, purity, and stability.
Develop analytical methods for the LCMS system to characterize research oligonucleotide samples including characterization of chemical and metabolic stability.
Maintain efficient workflows, combining internal and external analytical work at CROs.
Generate Certificate of Analysis reports from such data.
Perform formulation processes to provide research samples ready for in vitro and in vivo experimentation including endotoxin analysis.
Develop and maintain a sample tracking system for the compounds that come into Deep Genomics at Cambridge.
Future responsibilities may include bioanalysis of PK samples.
Basic Qualifications
PhD in analytical, pharmaceutical sciences, or bio-organic chemistry including expertise in HPLC (high pressure liquid chromatography) and mass spectrometry with 2 years experience; MS in similar fields with +5 years experience.
Experience in the laboratory techniques for oligonucleotides.
Experience in designing and implementing new processes for oligonucleotide samples.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with oligonucleotide therapeutics including formulation.
Understanding of in vitro assays and/or in vivo experiment involved in ADAR, siRNA and ASO-modality therapeutics.
Experience in bioanalysis and GxP methods and laboratory operations would be a benefit.
