Fiber Network Engineer (Nokia PON) - Contract en Aspen Fiber Networks

Overview:
Aspen Fiber Networks is seeking an experienced Nokia PON Specialist to support the deployment, optimization, and maintenance of our fiber network infrastructure. This is a contractor role for a hands-on professional who understands Nokia PON systems end-to-end and can execute high-quality field and network work with minimal oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deploy, configure, and maintain Nokia PON (GPON/XGS-PON) systems, including OLTs and ONTs
• Provision and troubleshoot subscriber routers and gateway equipment
• Perform turn-ups, testing, and validation of fiber circuits and customer connections
• Diagnose and resolve network performance issues across access and last-mile infrastructure
• Conduct routine maintenance, firmware upgrades, and system optimizations
• Work with OSP and ISP teams to ensure proper integration of fiber infrastructure
• Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, installs, and network changes
• Support emergency troubleshooting and outage response as needed

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience with Nokia PON platforms (e.g., ISAM FX, Altiplano, or similar)
• Strong understanding of GPON / XGS-PON architecture and provisioning workflows
• Hands-on experience deploying and configuring routers (residential and business class)
• Solid knowledge of IP networking (TCP/IP, VLANs, DHCP, PPPoE, routing basics)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with ISPs or fiber overbuilders
• Certifications in networking (e.g., CCNA, Nokia certifications)
• Experience working in master-planned communities or large-scale fiber deployments
