Description
The Supervisor, Quality Assurance is responsible for monitoring and updating quality systems for incoming raw materials, production, and finished products. This role ensures compliance with all regulatory, customer, and company requirements and provides direction, development, training, and supervision to Quality Assurance Technicians involved in inspection and quality control procedures to ensure all quality standards are followed.

Essential Job Functions
- Implement quality control objectives and coordinate with production procedures in cooperation with other managers to maximize quality and reliability while minimizing costs.
- Ensure all quality assurance forms are completed in accordance with company policies.
- Manage the receiving program, including testing and standards definition for incoming raw materials.
- Execute effective methods to measure quality across various levels throughout the department(s); recommend process improvements; and plan, promote, and organize training activities related to quality and reliability.
- Perform daily walk-throughs of all departments to ensure housekeeping and food handling practices meet compliance requirements; drive plant improvement by providing proactive solutions that support Quality and Safety goals.
- Provide guidance in handling customer complaints to ensure issues are handled and resolved appropriately.
- Analyze and document department metrics; provide timely, accurate, and relevant data and analysis to enable effective business management.
- May manage and coordinate the quality assurance department, including recruiting, hiring, training staff, evaluating employee performance, and recommending or initiating promotions, transfers, and corrective action.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- One (1) year of leadership experience
- One (1) year of quality assurance experience
Licenses/Certifications:
- N/A
Preferred Qualifications
- Two (2) years of leadership experience
- Two (2) years of quality assurance experience
- Knowledge of food safety practices, including HACCP, GMPs, SOPs, SSOPs, and SQF
- Bilingual
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Ability to understand Quality Standards, SSOPs, applicable prerequisite programs, and HACCP
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑resolution skills
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain a professional demeanor
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Environmental / Working Conditions
- Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, and first, second, and/or third shifts
- Ability to work in temperature conditions between 35°F and 95°F, with occasional exposure above 95°F
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to stand and perform repetitive hand and finger motions
- Frequently required to stand, walk, and reach above the head
- Occasionally required to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, and communicate verbally
- Ability to lift a minimum of 10 pounds
- Vision requirements include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to focus
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts, chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, and varying noise levels ranging from office to factory/warehouse environments
