This position will support Heartland Medical and Vetland Medical — subsidiaries of Prescott's, Inc.

We are seeking a Medical Device Technician Team Lead to oversee a team of medical device technicians and/or customer service representatives. This role involves conducting various electronic and mechanical tests, calibrations, services, and repairs on anesthesia equipment and accessories to guarantee that units operate according to specifications, or to identify the reasons for unit failure by performing the responsibilities listed below.

This position will be worked onsite at our facility in Jeffersontown, KY.

Key Responsibilities

  • Repairs, reworks, or calibrates units, subassemblies, or components to meet operational specifications or tolerances
  • Conducts tests and inspections of products and processes to evaluate quality, performance, and compliance with specifications
  • Reads test schedule, work orders, performance specifications, wiring diagrams, or schematics to determine testing procedure and equipment to be used
  • Uses a variety of equipment including but not limited to power supplies, multimeters, leak detection/vacuum systems, volt meters, flowtrax testing equipment, ohmmeters, soldering
  • Performs or inspects component replacement and rework on units, sub-assemblies and repair/exchange assemblies as required
  • Reads instrument dial or scope, or observes viewing screen, that indicates resistance, capacitance, continuity, and wave pattern or defect, such as short circuit or current leakage
  • Confers with technicians, technician manager(s), and others regarding testing procedures and results to resolve problems
  • Collaborate with internal teams to escalate and resolve complex technical issues
  • Participate in training programs to enhance technical knowledge and skills
  • Examines component, subassembly, or part for defects
  • Adjusts, repairs, or replaces electronic component parts to correct defects and to ensure conformance to specifications
  •  Explain assembly testing procedures or techniques to other workers as needed; assist other technicians with service and repair as required
  • Provide regular updates to leadership on team performance, challenges, progress
  • Ensures technicians have proper tools to complete their day-to-day jobs
  • Oversees day to day operation to ensure smooth workflow
  • Help with fulfilling orders, QC process and shipping and receiving

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience servicing, repairing and calibrating medical device equipment or related technical equipment required; prior medical device assembly experience preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively plan, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks
  • High level of attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
  • Proficiency with computer systems and data entry; experience using Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, and inventory management software required. Experience with Sage 100 and NetSuite is a plus
  • Familiarity with quality standards and ESD-safe procedures preferred
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience training or mentoring technicians or new hires preferred
  • Working knowledge of computer and electronic systems, including circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware/software preferred
  • Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, operation, repair, and maintenance
  • Strong information-ordering and analytical skills with the ability to follow established processes, patterns, and procedures
  • Effective time-management skills, including the ability to manage one's own workload and coordinate with others as needed
  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs
  • Ability to stand and move throughout a warehouse environment for extended periods; this is a physically active role
