About the Role 

We're seeking a Principal Technical Lead to join JourneyOne, one of Rmkble’s specialist businesses dedicated to taking clients on remarkable transformation journeys. 

This role is for a technical thought leader who will help us shape and win strategic client engagements through deep credibility in AI and modern engineering. 

This is not traditional consulting, nor is it a pure delivery role. 

You'll identify, shape, and secure complex AI and digital transformation opportunities. You'll win client confidence through expertise, guide technical strategy, and deliver production systems that create measurable business value. 

You'll represent JourneyOne as a trusted authority while building systems that work. 

 What You'll Do 

Shape, Win, and Guide Strategic Opportunities 

• Identify high-value AI and digital transformation challenges with senior stakeholders 

• Lead technical discovery: assess environments, data readiness, and architectural landscapes 

• Drive commercial pursuits: lead RFP responses, shape proposals, scope solutions, present to C-suite 

• Build lasting client relationships and establish trust with senior decision-makers 

• Represent JourneyOne publicly: speak at events, publish thought leadership, engage technical communities 

• Set architectural standards and engineering best practices that balance value with excellence 

• Validate solutions through rapid proof of concepts: turn AI potential into measurable outcomes 

• Evaluate emerging technologies (including Microsoft ecosystem) and translate hype into practical application 

• Lead complex architectural decision making across cloud, AI, and enterprise integration 

Architect, Build, and Enable Production Solutions 

• Design cloud-native, production-ready AI systems (Microsoft ecosystem preferred) 

• Move solutions from pilot to production: robust, scalable, sustainably operated 

• Support JourneyOne technical teams to deliver journeys at client site 

• Embed with client teams to build trust and integrate solutions into real workflows 

• Translate business problems into technical solutions with clarity and commercial awareness 

• Build workforce readiness: coach teams on modern engineering and AI practices 

• Mentor internal teams and raise technical excellence across JourneyOne 

What You Bring 

Technical Leadership (10+ years) and Applied AI  

• Deep cloud-native architecture expertise (Microsoft ecosystem preferred) 

• Strong software engineering capability 

• Enterprise integration, API design, modern engineering practices 

• Production AI/ML deployment  

• Hands-on with Microsoft AI platforms  

• LLM orchestration frameworks  

• AI governance, observability, and responsible implementation 

Commercial Acumen and Thought Leadership 

• Proven ability to shape and win complex opportunities: RFPs, proposals, C-suite presentations 

• An established network of decision makers, where that network views you as a trusted advisor based on your track record of delivery 

• Strong executive presence and communication across technical and business audiences 

• Demonstrated thought leadership (publications, speaking, community engagement) 

• Comfortable representing organisations publicly and building senior relationships 

• Senior stakeholder engagement and influence at executive level 

• Commercial mindset: scope, price, position solutions, contribute to revenue growth 

• Outcome-driven and pragmatic: balance ideal with real constraints 

• Mentorship and capability building: develop teams and foster continuous learning

Ideal Candidate 

You may come from: Principal engineer/architect, solutions architect/presales, technical consulting at major tech companies, or CTO/technical leadership roles seeking client strategy and commercial engagement. 

You are: Technically excellent with production systems experience, commercially fluent in shaping and winning opportunities, a natural thought leader comfortable representing organisation publicly, driven by real-world impact, and equally comfortable leading and doing from code to C-suite.
