Stanbridge University is seeking an energetic, service-driven professional to serve as the Student Orientation & Events Assistant. This role is the face of the new student experience and plays a critical part in ensuring every incoming student feels welcomed, informed, and supported from day one.
The ideal candidate is equally comfortable energizing a room of new students and rolling up their sleeves to execute the behind-the-scenes details that make each orientation seamless. This position requires a strong ambassador mindset, hands-on event support, inter-campus travel, and a commitment to operational excellence.
Essential Functions:
Student Orientation & Facilitation (Primary Focus)
- Schedule and coordinate all New Student Orientation sessions across campuses.
- Communicate orientation schedules and logistics with incoming students, faculty, and staff.
- Host and facilitate engaging hybrid orientation sessions via Zoom and in person.
- Serve as a welcoming, professional ambassador representing Stanbridge University to new students and families.
- Lead campus tours and classroom sessions as part of orientation programming.
- Ensure a polished and positive first impression for all new students.
Event & Media Support
- Provide administrative and logistical support for Media & Communications meetings and events, both on-campus and off-campus.
- Assist with event preparation, coordination, and execution to ensure smooth operations.
- Support media-related tasks for departments and instructors as needed.
Operational & Campus Logistics
- Coordinate catering, classroom setup, materials preparation, and event supplies.
- Transport event materials, orientation supplies, and related items between campuses as needed (university vehicle provided).
- Ensure all materials, gifts, and event elements are delivered, set up, and executed to create a seamless experience.
- Assist with post-event breakdown and organization.
- Maintain accurate student records and related administrative documentation.
Travel & Schedule Flexibility
- Travel between the Irvine, Riverside, Alhambra, and San Diego campuses as needed to support orientation and event activities.
- Opportunity to utilize a university vehicle when transporting materials and supporting inter-campus events.
- Mileage reimbursement provided where applicable.
- Maintain availability for occasional evening and weekend hours during peak orientation cycles.
- Overtime opportunities may be available based on operational and event needs.
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Outstanding customer service orientation and interpersonal communication skills.
- Confident public speaking and group facilitation abilities.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Proficiency with Zoom, including scheduling meetings, breakout rooms, screen sharing, and recording sessions.
- Comfortable transporting event materials between campuses using university vehicles.
- Ability to manage both presentation responsibilities and hands-on event logistics with professionalism and enthusiasm.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- $21-$23/hr. Compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and internal equity considerations.

- Student engagement or campus life (e.g., campus tour guide, orientation leader, student ambassador, student life assistant)
- Admissions or enrollment events support
- Youth, community, or faith-based program coordination
- Fitness, recreation, or camp leadership roles
- Brand ambassador or experiential marketing support roles
