POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Job Summary: The Coaching Coordinator manages day-to-day coaching development operations, including active recruitment, regular field observations, and direct coach support. This role requires independent decision-making for routine coaching matters and proactive communication with coaches and management.
Key Responsibilities:
Coach Recruitment & Development Management
- Support recruitment efforts including job posting creation, candidate sourcing, initial interviews, and hiring process management from application through offer negotiations
- Develop and maintain relationships with local colleges, sports organizations, and community groups for candidate sourcing
- Provide ongoing mentorship and support to coaches including problem-solving assistance, career guidance, and recognition programs
Quality Assurance & Performance Management
- Conduct regular field observations using established evaluation criteria and provide constructive feedback to coaches
- Identify coaching performance trends, implement corrective action plans for underperforming coaches, and monitor development progress
- Handle routine parent feedback related to coaching by investigating concerns, developing resolution plans, and coordinating with staffing and customer service teams
- Ensure consistent application of coaching standards across assigned programs and facilitate peer-to-peer learning opportunities
Program Support & Strategic Communication
- Collaborate with staffing team on seasonal forecasting by providing coach availability and performance insights
- Contribute to curriculum development by gathering coach feedback, suggesting program improvements, and maintaining communication channels between coaching staff and management
- Support special events and program launches with coaching-related planning and coordination
Additional responsibilities as required
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Playing, coaching and leadership experience within a youth soccer environment
- Demonstrated ability to lead, support, and develop coaching staff
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to evaluate performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Organized, dependable, and capable of managing multiple priorities across different seasons
Benefits
This full time role requires someone to work on site, 5 days out of 7 (including one weekend day), for 40 hours per week.
Salary is $25 per hour, which equates to $52,000 per year.
The company's main office is based on the Upper West Side but requires frequent travel throughout Manhattan to observe coaches, and their classes.
