The Role We are seeking a DON who is tired of the corporate "red tape" and wants to make a real impact. You will be the clinical heartbeat of our agency, working directly with the Founder/Administrator to ensure our patients receive the highest standard of care while our nursing staff feels mentored and supported.
Key Priorities
- Lead with Heart: Supervise and coach our nursing team, fostering a collaborative and positive environment.
- Clinical Excellence: Oversee OASIS accuracy, care plans, and Medicare compliance with a keen eye for detail.
- Growth & Strategy: Partner with leadership to refine policies and support our expansion in the St. Louis region.
Requirements
Professional & Education
- Active RN License: Must hold a current Registered Nurse license in Missouri or a compact state.
- Advanced Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of management or supervisory experience in a Medicare-certified Home Health setting (this is non-negotiable).
- Regulatory Mastery: Demonstrated expertise in Medicare Conditions of Participation (CoPs), OASIS accuracy, and state/federal home health regulations.
- Clinical Skillset: Proficiency in caring for the geriatric population, including complex wound care and chronic disease management.
- Minimum Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Preferred Education: Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a clinical focus.
- Professional Goal: A leader who, like our founder, values lifelong learning and advanced clinical practice.
Operational & Leadership
- Documentation Accountability: Proven ability to monitor and enforce strict clinical documentation standards, specifically ensuring contemporaneous charting within a 24-48 hour window.
- Staff Oversight: Experience in recruiting, orienting, and conducting performance evaluations that prioritize both clinical excellence and empathetic patient care.
- Quality Improvement (QAPI): Experience participating in program analysis, effectiveness appraisals, and implementing corrective action plans based on audit findings.
- Communication: Exceptional oral and written skills with a professional demeanor suitable for interacting with physicians, referral sources, and families.
Physical & Environmental
- Mobility: Ability to travel to various patient home environments, which may vary in cleanliness or temperature, and perform clinical duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Dexterity: Sufficient manual dexterity to operate Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems (Axxess) and other related office/clinical equipment.
