The Senior Software Developer, AI will play a pivotal role in the development and integration of AI products, focusing on back-end development. This position involves working on system integrations, API development, assistant system prompt engineering, multimodal LLM integration, UI/UX design, and creating robust back-end services.

  • AI Product Development: Contribute to the development of AI products, particularly the AI assistant Heather. Ensure the software meets high standards of performance, reliability, and user satisfaction.

 

  • System Integrations: Collaborate with IT and operational teams to integrate AI solutions into existing systems, such as EHR and HR platforms. Develop and maintain APIs for seamless data flow and functionality.

 

  • Assistant System Prompt Engineering: Design and optimize prompts for the AI assistant to enhance accuracy, responsiveness, and user experience. Continuously refine the system based on user feedback and performance data.

 

  • Multimodal AI Model Integration: Integrate large language models (LLMs) with multimodal capabilities (text, voice, and visual inputs) to enhance the AI assistant’s functionality across various use cases.

 

  • Back-End Development: Develop and maintain back-end services to support AI functionalities. Ensure robust, scalable, and secure back-end architecture using modern frameworks and best practices.

 

  • Quality Assurance: Participate in establishing rigorous testing protocols to ensure the AI products function correctly and deliver expected outcomes. Contribute to continuous improvement cycles based on user feedback and performance metrics.

 

  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operational leaders, software engineers, and product leaders, to align development efforts with business goals.

 

  • Documentation: Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for all developed software, including APIs, integration processes, and system architectures.

Requirements

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field required.

Advanced degrees are a plus.

 

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years in software development, with a focus on AI product development, system integrations, API development, and front-end/back-end technologies. Experience in healthcare or a related industry is highly desirable.

Proficiency in AI/ML frameworks, programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Java, C#), and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure). Demonstrated experience with API development, prompt engineering, and integrating LLMs.

UI/UX design principles and tools.

Proficiency in developing robust, scalable, and secure back-end services using frameworks like Node.js, Django, Flask, or platforms such as Buildship, Heroku for BaaS or similar.

Establishing and maintaining testing protocols to ensure software quality and reliability.
