Description
Assist other workers engaged in preparing foods, setting up dining area, serving, clearing, and cleaning, for assisted living and retirement facilities by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Wash, peel, cut, and seed vegetables and fruits.
- Clean, cut, and grind meats, poultry, and seafood.
- Dip food items in crumbs, flour, and batter to bread them. Stir and strain soups and sauces.
- Weigh and measure designated ingredients.
- Carry pans, kettles, and trays of food to and from workstations, stove, and refrigerator.
- Store foods in designated areas and assist with stock storage upon delivery.
- Understand stored food rotation and assist with rotating product.
- Clean work areas, equipment and utensils, segregates and removes garbage,
- Distribute supplies, utensils, and portable equipment.
- Serve meals and deliver additional food or substitutes from kitchen to both dining room (CNA’s are not permitted to leave the dining room).
- Is able to work independently as well as a team member with a positive attitude.
- Maintain dining room area.
- Set tables for meals including condiments on all tables prior to meal time.
- Clean tables after meals, washes dishes, silverware, glassware, pots and pans.
- Assist with preparation for special events such as birthdays.
- Vacuum and sweep around area after meals.
- Assist with washing and sterilization of utensils.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
