DIS-TRAN Steel is looking internally for a Talent Acquisition Specialist to work onsite at our Pineville plant facility.
The Talent Acquisition Specialist plays a key role in supporting DIS-TRAN Steel’s recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and employee experience processes.
The Talent Acquisition Specialist supports DIS-TRAN Steel’s recruitment and onboarding processes by ensuring a smooth and professional candidate experience from application through their first day. This role reviews applicants in the applicant tracking system, conducts phone screenings, coordinates interviews, schedules pre-employment screenings, and manages onboarding documentation and orientation materials.
The Specialist also represents the organization at career fairs, job fairs, and industry events to strengthen the talent pipeline. Additional responsibilities include opening and closing requisitions, supporting employee engagement activities, and assisting with internship program coordination. Through strong organization and collaboration, this role contributes to an efficient hiring process that reflects DIS-TRAN Steel’s culture and commitment to employee growth.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Open positions in the applicant tracking system (Lever) and ensure all postings are accurate, engaging, and aligned with approved job descriptions.
Monitor applications and proactively source candidates in Lever to identify strong fits.
Conduct initial phone screens to assess candidate qualifications and overall fit.
Schedule in-person or virtual interviews, coordinate candidate communication, and ensure a smooth interview experience for candidates and hiring teams.
Coordinate and schedule all pre-employment contingencies (drug screens, physicals, etc.).
Prepare and issue new-hire paperwork and ensure timely completion of all required onboarding documents.
Prepare required new-hire setup documentation (equipment requests, system access, etc.) using the Onboarding Checklist.
Assist with Talent Recruiting events such as Manufacturing Day, and Crest Career Day.
Attend as a company representative to local high school and college career fairs.
Assist in coordinating the DIS-TRAN Steel Internship program.
Some travel will be required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Degree in Business, Human Resources, Communications, or a related field preferred.
Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new HR and recruiting systems, tools, and technologies.
High integrity and ethical standards with the ability to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality.
Strong engagement skills and comfort networking to build strong relationships.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook required.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments and all levels.
Customer service orientation with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and continuous improvement.
