About the Role:
Our growing telecom company is looking for low voltage, field service technicians to perform various installations including, MDF and IDF rack and stacks, pulling cable (Cat 5e, Cat 6, coax and fiber), and performing 66 blocks and 110 block terminations.
Installing routers, switches, access points, and other network devices. Installing security cameras, alarm systems, POS systems, menu boards, TVs, Access Control, etc. for our diverse commercial client in the restaurant, government, hospitals, hotels and retail chain stores.
Our client area ranges from Texas to Illinois to Florida and to the West Coast.
There is a lot of driving sometimes for up to 9 hours to a job site, so adaptability and punctuality are important.
What you will be doing:
The scope of work varies from simple rack and stacks (routers/switches) to cabling entire 50,000 sq ft. building with new networking equipment, security cameras and wireless access points. Work could include hanging TVs and installing audio equipment, to installing our SmartCONNECT device along with phone system at client's location.
Troubleshooting the network at a clients location, etc... Our jobs typically have hard start times and will require you to drive to our customer's location to perform work.

Who are we looking for:
- Must have a minimum of 3-years of experience working in the low voltage field.
- High school or equivalent (Required).
- Low voltage field tech experience including, network rack and stacks (installing routers switches, servers, patch panels, etc), cable pulling (from network racks to various network drops that are snaked through walls, ran to APs and security cameras mounted on ceilings, Installation VoIP phone system
- Strong knowledge of networking WAN / LAN / VPN, routers, and switches.
- Must know Windows operating systems, be able to configure static IPs, and be able to console into a router.
- Must be familiar with MPOEs, Dmarc's, Extending circuits from Dmarc to Network Rack (MPOE), 66 Punch Down Blocks, and Phone wiring.
- Must have your own tools, such as reliable transportation, crimpers, toner, screwdriver, drill, laptop, punch-down tools, push poles, digital Multi-meter, label maker, ladders, etc.
- Follow SOPs and think outside the box.
Tools that you must have experience in:
- Basic software such as AnyDesk, Office suites, and similar
- Networking experience to setup the following
- Routers, Switches, WAPs, TVs, Speakers, Cameras
- Understanding of Static / Dynamic IPs
- Troubleshoot using CMD, PING, Tracer and etc
- Good understanding of networking, and network setup
- Knowledge of Networking terminology, tools, and equipment used
General tools of the trade
- must have a Cell phone
- Reliable vehicle
- All necessary networking tools such as Wire Toner, Buttset, CAT Cable Tester, basic hand tools, drill, etc
Working Hours
- General working hours are from 8 am to 5 pm but will extend beyond when needed to complete a project.
- Some traveling may be required.
