The Senior Food Safety Manager / Continuous Improvement drives the evolution of our food safety systems across multiple facilities. This role will focus on verification and validation of food safety programs, regulatory compliance, sanitary transportation, training, internal auditing, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Senior Food Safety Manager will be a proactive leader with expertise in food safety regulations, industry best practices, and risk mitigation strategies.

Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to
Oversee and continuously improve food safety programs across multiple sites, ensuring compliance with FDA, USDA, GFSI, State, and Local regulations
Lead verification and validation activities for food safety programs, including HACCP and Preventive Controls
Partner with Logistics to support compliance with FSMA Sanitary Transportation
Monitor and interpret emerging legislative changes, ensuring timely updates to company policies and procedures
Conduct internal audits to assess compliance, identify gaps, and implement corrective actions
Partner with R&D to evaluate food safety risks associated with new ingredients, suppliers, and finished meal innovations
Develop and deliver food safety training programs to employees at all levels, fostering a culture of food safety excellence
Champion food safety culture initiatives, engaging leadership and frontline employees in continuous improvement efforts
Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for site-level food safety teams
Coordinate change management processes, ensuring seamless integration of new policies, procedures, and product formulations
Assist in the implementation and improvement of Quality Management Systems (ETQ)
Work cross-functionally with operations, procurement, and supply chain to enhance food safety initiatives
Trend food safety data to identify patterns, risks, and opportunities for improvement
Develop and lead continuous improvement projects to enhance food safety and quality performance
Utilize root cause analysis and risk assessments to implement proactive corrective and preventive actions
Required Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field
5+ years’ experience in food safety, quality assurance, or regulatory compliance in a multi-site corporate role
Strong knowledge of FDA, USDA, FSMA, HACCP, Preventive Controls, and GFSI standards
Proven experience in food safety program verification, validation, and internal auditing
Excellent communication, training, and leadership skills to drive food safety culture
Ability to analyze and interpret food safety data, identifying trends and areas for improvement
Willingness to travel as needed to support facilities and audits
